Take a Swing at Breast Cancer
Take a Swing at Breast Cancer is an 18-hole charity golf tournament created and produced by the team of Stichting A Sister’s Hope.
The swinging takes place zondag, 22 juni, at Het Rijk van Nunspeet Golfbaan in Nunspeet.Most people want to do something in the world’s efforts to find better treatments and the cure for breast cancer, but walking 60km over two days – A Sister’s Hope 60km Walk, October 11&12, 2008 – is not the way some people choose to help. This tournament gives people another option for helping and still offers the challenge of raising a significant amount to fund leading breast cancer research at NKI and UMC-Utrecht.
18 HOLES = 18 SPONSORS X 25 EURO
Golfers must meet a minimum fundraising requirement of 450 euro, or 1800 euro per foursome. If that sounds like a lot, consider that the testing of one tissue sample for some of the breast cancer research being done costs 200 euro. Find 18 individuals to each give you 25 euro and you have reached the minimum. If your foursome raises more than 1800, you will be funding additional vital tissue sample research. Top fundraisers will receive a special award in addition to the deepest of gratitude from Holland's breast cancer community.
One of every 9 women in Holland will be diagnosed with breast cancer. In A Sister’s Hope 60km Walk 2008, one of our breast cancer survivors is age 25. Walk the course on June 22. Take a Swing at this disease. Give a Sister Hope.
CORPORATIONS can make this an employee benefit and a marketing opportunity by sponsoring a foursome, or two or three. Teams can wear logo shirts and their companies can contribute items to all players’ goodie bags. Individual golfers also can register and will be placed into a foursome if they do not create one on their own. Since space is limited, participants are required to send a 50 euro reservation fee to Stichting A Sister's Hope, Postbank-Amsterdam #3922900. This 50 euro will be applied to the 450 euro minimum.

An incredible terrace BBQ evening meal will be combined with the awards ceremony after all players have finished their rounds and everyone is eligible for drawings of donated prizes.
